Tenba Airbook Portfolio Cases
When a portfolio is shipped to a print committee or potential commercial or
portrait client, the way that it is shipped inevitably becomes part of the
presentation. A sloppy brown box makes a bad first impression. The way that
a book is transported also determines how many times it can make the rounds
before it has to be retired because it’s too beat up. Tenba Airbooks
are designed to move portfolios and prints safely, time after time. They also
protect precious artwork for artists who travel from artshow to artshow.
Outside
The exterior of the Airbook is wrapped in ultra-tough
yet sleek Ballistic Nylon, the same fabric used in top-of-the-line luggage.
This material is ideal
for
handling the abuses of travel and shipping, while arriving at its destination
looking great. The exterior of the case also features the DataSleeve,
Tenba’s exclusive, interchangeable shipping window and personalization
solution. For instant “shippability,” standard waybills or other
shipping/courier documents are placed inside the removable window, which
is then slid securely into the DataSleeve. When the window is not being used
for shipping, the Airbook owner can swap it out for a photograph, magazine
cover, fabric swatch or other element of personal expression. Or, for an
additional cost, Tenba can even laser-engrave a custom-fit, anodized aluminum
plate with the artist’s logo or other graphic (please contact

more information). Additional exterior features include triple lockable zippers,
seatbelt-grade webbing,
welded
D-rings, deluxe padded handgrip, removable, padded and contoured shoulder
strap and more.
Inside
The Airbook interior has two special modifications specially suited for portfolios
-- corner cutouts, to protect mounted prints and delicate books (leather,
aluminum, Lucite etc.) from shipping damage or accidental drops, and hand
cutouts on each side that allow easy removal of the contents. A variety of
additional storage compartments inside the lid provide space for comp cards,
cover letters, return shipping documents and business cards.
The core of the Airbook is Tenba’s patented Air Case frame – a
multi-layered skeleton of air-channeled plastic panels, high-density foam,
and specially-molded framing components – all wrapped with soft, brushed
tricot to protect, cradle and elegantly present the contents. Airbooks are
