Quiller’s Acrylic Top Coat provides artists with a very hard, scratch resistant, yet semi-flexible top coat for application onto paintings, sculpture and crafts. This durable water-based product dries to a high gloss, glass-clear and non-tacky finish. It is washable and virtually non-yellowing.
Quiller Acrylic Top Coat is self-leveling and can be brushed, poured, or sprayed to produce a thin protective finish. Once dry, it will remain semi-flexible even in multiple layers. To produce thicker coats and maintain maximum flexibility, apply in thin layers allowing a curing time of 12 to 24 hours between coats. This is the ideal medium for sealing floor cloths that have been painted with acrylics. For best results on flexible surfaces, apply Top Coat while the paper or canvas is stretched onto a solid support as the Top Coat may cause shrinkage and curling of the edges. Though Top Coat can be lightly tinted with Quiller Acrylic colors, it will perform best when used full strength over fully dried (cured) paint.
Recommended for indoor applications only. To ensure a painted surface is fully dried (cured), allow from one week to three months curing time on thin applications. Heavily applied or layered applications can take three to six months to fully cure.
